Project overview

Story Agents is a writing workspace organised around configurable assistants. The current showcase focuses on novel outlines, novel prose and audio-drama scripts. Writers choose an assistant, supply a genre, character setup, chapter goal or existing passage, and receive a draft for further editing. Distinct task choices help writers move deliberately between planning, expansion and adaptation.

Develop an idea into an outline or script

  1. During planning, a brief inspiration can be developed into more specific instructions: what story to tell, what conflict the characters face and what a volume or chapter should advance.
  2. Organising those details for the outline assistant and reviewing the returned setting and structure provides clearer material for a later prose request.

The aim is to turn a loose idea into text the author can evaluate and revise.

  • For prose or audio-drama adaptation, writers can include the agreed outline, existing passage and current objective in a request, specifying the plot expansion, dialogue style or script format they want.
  • The showcased audio-drama assistant is oriented around character lines, narration, background music and sound-effect cues. It supports an initial script draft for further preparation; recording and finished audio production happen later.

Set context and requirements for each revision

Each request should include the background and constraints needed for that attempt.

When switching assistants or revising a draft, writers can retrieve relevant text from earlier records and submit it with new instructions, specifying what to preserve and what to rewrite. This keeps context selection in the author’s hands rather than assuming that material saved in history will automatically be included in the next generation.

Search writing records and configure assistants

  • Question-and-answer records are saved by user and can be searched using keywords from the original request. They retain the input, output and selected assistant, helping writers revisit the instructions behind a particular revision rather than only its final passage.
  • Administrators can manage users and review authorised history and usage. Maintainers can adjust assistant names, descriptions and task focus to suit different writing arrangements.

Review and finalise the work as its author

The workspace helps turn ideas and drafts into material that can be revisited while a writer develops and revises a work in stages. Narrative continuity, character consistency and text quality still require author review and editing. It provides assistants and records; creators decide how to select, combine and finalise the chapters or scripts.

Ownership & delivery

I independently planned and designed the writing workspace, developed its architecture, frontend and backend, and handled deployment and maintenance. I built configurable assistants for outlines, prose and audio drama scripts, with streaming generation, searchable user-specific histories, and assistant configuration publishing and rollback.
