Project overview

PrintX helps designers and sourcing teams organise print artwork from garment reference images. A collection of style photos can become one task: identify the relevant areas, extract the artwork and review the results. Preparation, processing status and delivery stay in one workflow, making it easier to work through a collection and choose motifs worth developing further.

Prepare and crop source images

Import a single image, multiple images, a folder or an image archive.

  • When a photo contains several motifs or too much background, crop it first. A crop can replace the current image or become an additional input while the original remains available.
  • The original can also be restored, so preparation can follow the needs of each style without requiring every photo to be separated beforehand.

Set up tasks and handle failures

Before submission, choose an upper-body, lower-body or full-body region, along with the output proportions and definition.

  • Each image has its own waiting, processing, successful or failed status.
  • Failed items retain an error message, and their original material can be reopened from the records for another attempt. Failed processing also has a recorded points-refund process to help reconcile usage.

Compare results and deliver in stages

  1. Each record shows the reference and extracted image together, making it easier to check whether the motif is complete and the subject is appropriate.
  2. Download one result, select several successful results or export all successful results as an archive. Unfinished and failed images are excluded.

A collection can therefore be reviewed and delivered in stages.

Reuse history and check production requirements

History retains batches and individual results for later retrieval, retries and exports. The product provides a starting point for extracting and organising print images, with designers continuing to check detail, colour and production requirements. An extracted result is not a colour-approved, prepress-ready or production-approved print file.

Ownership & delivery

I independently planned and designed the print extraction product, developed its frontend and backend architecture, and handled deployment and iteration. I built per-image tracking, concurrency controls and output storage for batch processing, alongside parent and sub-account billing, payment verification and credit refunds for failed jobs.
